Giving myself a pat on the back

The good thing about long rides at Arakawa on the weekend is that you have time to think — the course is mostly flat and straight, and doesn't require much attention, so the mind wanders.

One thing running through my head was the notion of how all-consuming an endeavor Ironman training is. It demands as much commitment as you can handle, and then some. It does not suffer half-measures, and leaves you so drained that the only thing your body demands is fuel and rest.
